Erin McVeigh-SmithErin McVeigh-Smith is a Boston native, who is married and now living in Drogheda.  After graduating with Honours from Boston University in 2001 with a major in Mass Communication & Public Relations and a minor in Political Science, she travelled around the world before settling in Ireland in 2002.

She has gained professional experience as a correspondent for the Boston Globe covering Massachusetts politics from the State House Bureau, as a communications officer at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in Washington D.C., and at a Boston based public relations firm.  In Ireland, she became project manager for a non-profit organisation which supports the marine and aquatic science sectors.  In this capacity, she successfully secured public funding from the European Commission and Irish government for research and development projects and related support activities.

Since 2006, she has also been pursuing a professional qualification from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), and is at the final stage of exams.  She has gained practical experience to this end, most recently with Paul Russell, F.C.C.A.
